"My five soldiers show how at the end of a particular sortie, a cool drink is needed and the weariness of heat and war shows in the stance of two of the figures.
The scene was inspired by the many reports of fighting in Afghanistan that I heard of during 2012/2013. Reports that became part of our daily lives.
This painting is dedicated to the memory of my father Harry,
who fought with 7th Armoured Brigade, The Desert Rats, during WW2.
